Project Overview
David’s Huddersfield kitchen felt dark and dated, with heavy wood cabinetry and black worktops soaking up the light. Quartzize were asked to create a softer, brighter space without replacing the existing layout. By updating both the doors and worktops, the room now feels calmer and more spacious while still working harmoniously with the original terracotta floor and tiles.
What We Changed
The old dark wood doors were replaced with new Cologne-style doors in Linen Matt, giving the kitchen a clean, modern look with a softer, muted tone. These lighter fronts immediately lift the long runs of cabinetry and help the glass-fronted units become a subtle focal point.
The black laminate worktops were swapped for Carrara Marble quartz overlays, fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The fresh white surface with gentle grey veining bounces natural and artificial light around the room, particularly along the sink and corner cooking areas, helping to brighten the whole space.

David now has a brighter cooking and entertaining space that blends modern finishes with the warmth of his original terracotta floor.
